Can i flush coffee grounds down the compost toilet?
I’ve heard it can clog the toilet, but if a toilet can handle poo, toilet paper, and vomit it can handle coffee grounds right?
I ask because I just got a french press machine and it doesn’t collect the grounds in a filter for easy disposal like a drip machine does, you just end up with this 1/2 cup or so of coffee ground soup. Tossing it in the toilet would be so easy!
I also don’t have a compost pile or garbage disposal so it’s either that or find a way to filter out the grounds so i can throw them in the trash.
rubber j – cool! I was thinking that too but after load after load of coffee grounds i wasn’t sure if that was a good permanent solution. But flinging them about seems like a good idea. I could do some guerilla fertilizing of my neighbor’s bushes and stuff too. Sounds fun.

You Can put them down the toilet, but the waste water treatment plant has to clean the water up. Not a good idea. If you have a septic system, definately NO!

You can flush them but -even better- you can also spread them in the garden or on the lawn. The grounds are high in nitrogen and will help the soil, plants, and soil microorganisms. Just fling ‘em!

I wouldn’t advise flushing them. They will eventually build up and clog the drain. Spread them around the lawn and plants. They are also good for feeding worms…..if you are raising them. We raise them for fishing and they love the coffee grounds.

Don’t put anything you don’t need to down the toilet — try sprinkling them in your garden. Can help the plants.

you can, just not that much at a time, like maybe 10 or 15 at a time, or you can toss them into your garden, maybe even feed them to birds, you may think that they are too big, but the birds love ‘em! Also, I have done this before, It’s a little weird and it sounds like something a 10 year old would do, but what i did, is i put them in the oven and cooked them till they were mushy, and i put them in the blender and then went out to the end of my yard and poured it out and then it leaves a good smell inside and keeps the bad smells away from the house and it actually, believe it or not, keeps people from robbing, just joking, lol. I wish.
P.S. This may not work!!!
