It’s not that easy. Making electricity from light requires high quality crystals. All you can hope to do is convert the light to heat and try to convert that heat into electricity. It’s not practical for the typical do it yourself project.

You need to assemble a number of solar cells into an array. You are not going to be able to make solar cells from waste material. You probably are not going to find any working solar cells in the trash or at a low price in a thrift store either. And if you look at any of the DIY solar panel web pages that sell solar cells and look at their prices and multiply that by the number you need to build a panel of a given power output, you will find that it is CHEAPER to buy a completely assembled solar panel from any of the regular solar energy companies.

You can buy broken solar cells(cells in peices that STILL WORK) by the pound for CHEAP you can then solder them to conductive mesh. Thats the basics, you can figure out the rest. Itll be tricky but it will work.

If someone gave you an idea that anyone can make a solar panel from waste materials are bunch BS. Solar panel requires silica and energy cells that collects heat and convert into energy.
A low grade solar panel sells an average $500 dollars per panel. Do you really think you can create an effective and working solar panel from waste.. think again.
