DIY Windmill – Making a Windmill at Home
DIY windmills can be expensive, but can save you money over time as the expense of making power eventually can become next to nothing. I hear that the power company will even pay you for any extra power you generate that you do not use. Recently it has been noticed that some are installing DIY windmill power solutions at sites where the average speed of wind is not the suggested 11 miles an hour. This tells us that a slower average is providing results for some.
Even though the cost to build your own windmill can be expensive, there are ways to set one up less expensively. Here are some things to keep in mind when setting up a DIY windmill.
Find a guide on DIY windmills and know how much output you would like the windmill to make.
Your materials must be of good quality. You do not want your windmill to fall apart by too much wind.
Do some research regarding the cost of the materials and find ones that fit your budget.
There are a couple of DIY windmill guides available online. I found one that I really like and have listed the source below. It includes step-by-step instructions via an illustrated e-book or online video tutorials. It is easy to understand and has links to merchants online where you can find materials.
I am in the process now of setting up my first windmill and am excited to get it up and running. Within the same guide I mentioned above, there are also instructions on how to build your own solar panel for under $200. I plan on making one of those as well.
